Until recently I thought I would be able to get some asia miles by paying my tax with my Visa card. Someone has since told me that HSBC do not award reward points for Tax payments.
Does anyone have any alternative tips for when it come to paying?

It's been a few years now since any credit cards gave miles for tax payments unfortunately. This being an utterly free and competitive market they all introduced it at the same time and withdrew it at the same time (to the day).
That's like taking away the ONE little incentive (albeit a weak one) to pay tax.

Apart from the fact that it isn't optional, it's one of the lowest taxes in the world, and you get a huge heap of things in return?
Easiest way I've found to pay is online- just do a transfer, print out the transaction copy, staple it to the tax invoice, and wait until duty calls again next year.
HSBC gave me a $100 credit for paying with an HSBC visa. Woohoo.
