    Suits and shirts-tailor made

Hi, been in HK for 6 months. There's lots of salesman offering shirts and suits for tailoring in Kowloon, but I had been doubtful of their quality. I'm happy to find a tailor in HK or Shenzhen that can do Zara quality, any recommendations? I need tailors because my body size is rather odd, either it's too tight at neck or sleeves too short!

The best one in town is called Imran - he does better than Zara quality call 6431 8544 really the best.....looked after me and I've got a very odd body indeed....that said, I'm quite sure there'll be many other recommendations from my fellow Geoexpatters..

Not difficult to do better than zara quality to be honest!

Plenty of threads about tailors if OP wants to use the search button.

Maybe qlloakey's tailor friend will be along in a minute to tell us about the link between Zara and quality!

Haha! What can I say, I'm easily satisfied! Zara off the rack is what I had been buying as the sleeves are long, compared to other brands. Anything that will cost me $180/shirt or less is good to me!!

If you go to Sham Shui Po you can buy end of real fabric at $20/y (you will probably need 2 yrds) and a shirt maker should charge around $100. So Tailor made shirts are feasible at $140 in Hong Kong.

FitWell in Penninsula Hotel shopping arcade

Just came back from fitting today with my husband.
While we were living in Sydney, we used to use a traveling Thai tailor.
But, FitWell in Peninsula Hotel shopping arcade seems better than them.

We are not sales persons. So, we just made "good enough" quality business trousers, which costed 1600 HKD.
One female shirts with quite good 100 % cotton fabric was 800 HKD.
They care details. So, if you think care quality job, I think they are good.

Sometimes I wonder which posts are trustworthy. As a rule of thumb, whenever those guys on the streets approach me with suits, shirts pants offers, I'll black list them and make it a point not to visit these tourist trap prone places

Any thoughts if Shanghai tailors are better skilled? I see a lot of signs advertising their shanghainese roots. Anyone tried?
