Hair salon for thick, wavy hair?

    Hi guys,

So... I've never had a completely satisfactory haircut in Hong Kong. I have thick, wavy hair (probably kinda like hair typical of South Asian or Latin American women, though I'm not either ethnicity) but I have mostly gone to salons frequented by local (read: Chinese) Hong Kongers. I'd like to try a salon that caters to different hair types; I'd really, really like to go to a place where the hairdresser won't a/ try to persuade me to straighten my hair, b/ "thin" my hair without asking me first and c/ cut my hair in a way that's "on trend" but doesn't suit me.

    Help?

Hi, may be Jerry at Nova Hair in Central can help? He mentioned he was Vidal Sassoon trained in the UK and had worked at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel for a few years. I known him from the hotel and had followed him for years. I have thick, wavy hair, he consultated with me and provided several options before styling my hair. I'm very happy with my stylish but not over trendy hair style. If you're interested, his number is 9156 7715

All salons seem to thin your hair, whether you want it or not! I have fine, thin, flyaway hair, but a lot of it and it tangles and goes flat easily so I need SOME layering/thinning to avoid weight/tangles...but they seem to hack it all off here and I loathe it- I end up with no hair up front at all almost. Always on the lookout for someone who can cut my hair right which I have yet to find here, probably because my hair type is more common amongst 'Westerners' (I blame my father's blonde genes) rather than the Chinese.

I have had great luck with Emmanuel F in the Nexxus Building in central. They cut my wife's hair and did a great job and I had the Maestro, Emmanuel himself, cut my hair and he did a great job. Emmanuel and his wife are from France and the hairstylist who did my wife's hair is named Tika and she is Nepalese. Always remember you get what you pay for and usually if you want a quality person with good skills to cut your hair you have to pay a bit more. Emmanuel F has a mostly Western clientele from what I have seen. They are rated in the top 10 best hair salons in HK.

Hey girl! I just moved out here from the states... I too have curly thick/coarse hair and am looking for a hair dresser. Please keep us posted on where you went, and your experience! Wishing you the best of luck!

For heaven's sake! Your question has been answered above (since you appear incapable of using Google yourself) and you still keep asking it....that makes SEVEN times so far!

For all our sakes stop spamming the forum and read the replies to the several requests you've made for this f**king hair straightener. If you're unable to do that I'd suggest you shouldn't be able to use one of these unsupervised.
