    Thermal hair straightening

Anyone have a salon to recommend for thermal hair straightening?

Not looking for the brazillian blowout bc i had it done and it's not as effective as the pictures show. The process is similar btw the two an hair is stick straight right after the process an that's when salon take their pics. After I washed my hair 2 days after brazillian blowout it went back to normal. I know the Japanese thermal straightening works for me so I want to go back to that.
And I have read previous posts about this. Recommendation for Mina devwil and tony and guy. Just wanted to see if anyone had something more recent.

As long as you have "virgin" hair - you can pretty much get it done anywhere. My sister was visiting me from the states and just walked around to different places (also checked out Mina Devii) and asked how much and what kind of treatment they plan to use. We ended up going to a local hair shop near my apartment and had it done there. The cost was around $800 HK which is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the states. Her hair is still straight (it's been almost a year) but the new hair is wavy.

Straight hair made curly, curly hair made straight!

Why don't you chicks come to some agreement to stop this madness!

Stoob: No madness just personal preference. And my hair isn't curly, it's a bit of everything; wavey, frizzy, puffy, a few curls, all around hard to manage.

Dctoki: so the local places are ok? I've seen a lot of places offering ion straight which I assume is the same. Been a bit scared to try them though.

I can't vouch for all of them but if they are experienced and the price is fair, it's definitely worth looking into them. It's your decision - when I lived in Korea, I just walked into a random salon and asked them how much and they looked and touched my hair (it was 100% unprocessed), gave me a quote and I came back the next day and had it done. Most of these salons have done this treatment many, many times so I wasn't nervous at all. I also had/have very wavy and frizzy hair but the problem with the treatment was my hair became stick straight and very boring. Since I now also color my hair, my only option is the Brazillian Keratin and I haven't had problems with it. It's not suppose to make your hair stick straight - it's suppose to help with the frizz (which it did) but it only lasts for about two months. Not sure why yours only lasted two days.

I did mine amazingly nice by Jerry at Nova Hair in Central. I had it done about 6 months ago and it still look straight and silky smooth. He mentioned to me that he was Vidal Sassoon trained in the UK and used to work at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. I don't trust the local places very much as one of my friend had bad experience with them straightening her hair. Woud rather pay a bit more and trust someone with good background. If you are interested, his number is 91567715.

I did mine for around HK$2,500 and I have long hair passed my shoulder. Would definitely recommend him to you. He does a lot of Thermal hair straightening but at the same time he also does the Brazilian Blowout. But he recommended me the Thermal straightening way as he doesn't think the Brazillian way would suit me. Hope it helps
