Is it normal to raise prices near the lunar new year?

    yes hairdresser raise prices before Lunar New year, it's normal pratice, surprise jimbo does not know this.

    The traditional practice of raising price on most merchandise/services around Lunar New Year is still very much in evidence. Local Chinese also finding it acceptable still. At least hairdressing salons don't charge double like they used to when I was young......mind you, most workers in Hong Kong also gets double pay this month too, so they don't mind paying more.

    it seems I have been extremely lucky, as always, got my hair cut for HK$ 40 ( in words: fourty)
    five days ago and running around with a hat since then.

    I also noticed that most electronic items sell for HK$ 6,000 now.
    I wonder why ?..........
