Old Shanghai costume party - Cheongsam

    Hey peeps

I am trying to organise a costume for the NYE party at the Pawn this year, it's an Old Shanghai theme so was thinking of a cheongsam combined with some retro accessories. The problem is, I am a curvy girl and I don't think I would fit into anything off the rack here. Does anyone know of a decently priced tailor that does a good quality job for this sort of dress?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

    Thanks!

    Lauren

There's a tailor who specialises in cheongsams on Shelley St....on the stretch between Wellington and Lyndhurst. I think they're called Linva (but I could be wrong!) just a few doors along from Just Salad & Pizza Express. They're ground floor and have cheongsams in their window. It's worth popping in to check with them re. prices etc.

Inside the National Court building in Jordon there used to be a 'local' tailor making them inside on the ground floor. Just a small shop and not a posh place and you may need to be patient with next to zero English skills. But a lot cheaper than the fancy shops...

Far more than you can afford when you only have $2-3k per month to live on!
