Any horology enthusiasts on this forum?
With the economic downturn I'd be curious to know how the watch market has been affected and whether the high-end timepieces have become a bit more affordable?

Are such things investments, or merely 'arm candy'?
I wouldn't class myself a horology enthusiast but I do enjoy a nice watch.
Rolex prices are on the slide for sure. However, much like the equities markets, just because something is 30% cheaper than it was last week doesn't mean it's not overpriced.
I bought a Rolex Air King 116900 from an authorised dealer at retail price a few months ago (post - riots, pre-corona).
I have my eye on the BLNR (Rolex 'batgirl') and prices in the grey market have been steadily falling - right now the cheapest new one is HKD 98k on Chrono24 - a year ago sellers were asking 150k.
No idea what the trajectory is going to be. I wouldn't feel comfortable dropping that kind of money on a Rolex from a grey market retailer so it's authorised dealer (at RRP) or nothing for me.
are the grey market in your context the parallel importers ? or are they 2nd hand dealers ?
