Questions for men with wavy hair

    Wavy hair Asian male here.

Every time I visit a salon here the hairdresser would say either "your hair so curly just cut short la" or "do our hair straightening la". My hair is not even that curly, just wavy. Maybe HK hairdressers lack wavy hair to experience with? I've had really short hair almost all my life since I think my wavy hair is a hassle and now I would like to embrace it and keep it long, but I still need to trim it somewhat regularly (it looks like a mushroom now according to friends).

Anyway, I'd be really grateful if anyone could give me a few pointers.

    1) Where can I get a decent haircut? No need to be fancy, don't really want to spend a fortune on a trim.

    2) What should I say to the hairdresser? I'm confused with hairdressing terms and would just say "erm trim please".

    3) Any products you'd recommend? I currently have Kiehl's heat protective silk straightening cream.

    Thanks everyone!

wavy hair tend to have more volume. all you need is layering and a bit of trim...more on the back.

I've got a long wavy hair and I haven't visited the salon in a long time. looking good so far.

Just say "number one back and sides and a number two on top"

    Job done.
