    best thing to do is to go to the a & e dept of a gov't hospital. they would HAVE to report it, just as they have to report dog bites etc. to the relevant authorities.

    not being a smart arse but why would you return to a restaurant that had earlier given you food poisoning? would put me off for life. in fact, it has done for the two occasions I have been poisoned in HK - a whole in the wall Indonesian place in Sheung Wan and Outback in wanchai. never return.

    I did that once and had a good experience... they asked very detailed questions about everything we ate/drunk/did the days just before and after the food poisoning and then visited the restaurant to take samples. About 2 weeks later we received a report by email... in this case they didn't find any issues with the samples nor the hygiene procedures in the restaurant.
