    Best restaurant(s) in Stanley?

Hiya, just thinking about going to Stanley for a dinner out.

What restaurants would you recommend -- best/tastiest food/menu? Been to the German place, would like to try something different and sit outside.

    Any recommendations?

Definitely curious to hear what others think but from what I've seen most of those places are set up to gouge tourists. The review for the Chinese restaurant sounds a bit steep as well (dinner for two around $400)? Are you kidding?

There is a very nice Thai Vietnamese restaurant in that old building.

    Yes, i know, very informative....

It was two years ago though. It was over $800 for two but we were splurging. But you won't get much change out of $500 for two.

    Sent from somewhere....

You could always go ghetto style:

Just hit up the Taste Supermarket for some wine and cheese or beers on sale and grab a seat near the boardwalk.

We enjoy ourselves just fine every time we do it. 😜

That would be at the cheaper end of places where many people here go. A pub burger and a pint of beer is $200.

I am fine paying that much if the food is good but I haven't really been anywhere yet where it's worth it? Most places have substandard or mediocre food. I get it, rent is expensive here so the food is more expensive. But I've only been to a few places where the extra money is worth it:

    Cacio e Pepe (Soho)
    Maxim's Palace (City Hall)
    Olive (Soho)
    ABC (Sheung Wan)

I have always eaten well at Chez Patrick Deli.

but not for someone who thinks $400 for two is being "gouged".
