The Monogamous Chinese, under the Escalator, has several excellent Sichuan dishes. I was told by the proprietor that the chef is from Sichuan. N.B. It's been a year since I've been there, which is an eternity in the HKG restaurant scene, so things could have changed.

Chili Fagara gets a lot of love, but I think it's just Okay.

A friend of mine once wrote to me:

"I would recommend Yellow Door for a celebration of sorts. It is rather quiet and a nice surrounding.
Other than that, you may want to try 四姐川菜 Sijie Sichuan Restaurant

It's much more fun if you go as a group and I would advise to make a reservation first.
The staff there is rather friendly and you can ask them for recommendations."

I love chili fagara. But there is also this place on Aberdeen street close to caine road. I wasn't able to spot its name last time I have been there.

In Causeway Bay, there's a place called Yu that has good dan dan mein.

    Here's the link on OpenRice:

It's also the first place I ever tried the peppercorns that actually make your mouth tingle. Strange sensation, to say the least.

Bi Yi at 43 Water St. in the Western District do some Sichuan dishes, I think. Generally a good restaurant, although the last few times we went we weren't as impressed.

It's the green Sichuan peppercorns that have the tingling effect. Bi Yi has a green bean dish with them!
