Christmas Day buffet lunch

Thumbs up Christmas Day buffet lunch

Anyone recommend a good restaurant for Christmas Day lunch? We are looking for traditional roast turkey etc. Last year we were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere with our 'posh nosh' at one of the 5*hotels. So we are looking for somewhere a little livelier for Christmas 2014!

Hi LindyLulu, do you mind saying which one you were disappointed with last year? I'm also interested and starting to thinking about where to go.... I actually wanted to post and ask if anyone could chime in on the portion size of The Globe's Christmas dinner??? It seems pretty reasonably priced and looks good, but I really don't want to deal with my partner being an absolute grump on Christmas day because he pays extra for a "fancy" meal and goes away not feeling stuffed.

The portions at the Globe have always been pretty generous, so I would guess their Xmas lunch will be on the large side too. If your human dustbin is still hungry he can always fill up on a few extra Xmas puds.

Upstairs at Delaney's used to do good grub with large helpings, as did Carnegies a couple of years ago, but who downsized dramatically last year (not the price of course) to a shadow of it's former self.

The Market at Hotel Icon has the best buffet in town nowadays (and fully booked months in advance), so I expect their Christmas buffets to be excellent as well. We booked there for Christmas Eve.

Globe looks nice apart from Christmas pudding...isn't that an acquired taste?

No, it's an intrinsic part of your human existence. Lovely with a bit of custard and brandy sauce.
