Given how popular he is, the powers-that-be should get their heads out of their arses and issue more licences for stuff like ice creams that people want, instead of dreaming up more bureaucratic posh food schemes that nobody wants (or did but couldn't find)

Ice cream vans will remain a monopoly as they are a 'protected' industry. You could lose a foot if you sell icecream on the wrong turf

Still have not stumbled upon one- and I’m not going to go out of my way to find one, probably like the rest of HKers.

Has anybody on here actually found one? And is it good?

I have seen a few. Mostly at the spot near Central pier. Butcher's club had a truck if I recall. I believe I have tried it once but I guess it didn't leave an impression as I can't even remember that I had it. Lol

there's one in taikoo shing in front of the new tower... used to be bread&beast, then they gave up and I reckon it's now a butcher's club selling impossible burgers.
it was better when it was bread&beast

So that's where he went. His burgers are awesome! He used to be stationed out here near the beach. He'd be doing a roaring trade today, Tai Mei Tuk is madness, took me 3x longer to get home as traffic was backed up passed the Beverley Hills!

Hygiene, though. It's the same reason ice cream trucks are bad ideas: the vendors aren't going to keep the refrigeration on 24/7 even when they're off work because they don't want to fork out for the increased bills when they aren't receiving much ROI. They switch it back on when restarting work the next day, the ice creams have been kept at room temps./HK. summer night temperatures all night. Just food poisoning waiting to happen. You can bet they're not going to be able to pay out compensation.
