Obviously the business plan is to fleece western tourists who are scared of bright table Chinese restaurants, not long term residents.

Or mainland tour groups who want to be daring and try something (for them) "exotic", being clueless about what a pizza should actually be.

I once had a 'pizza' in China with shortcrust pastry and Glacé Cherries.

One of my earliest memories of coming to Asia 20ish years ago was of a gentleman in the basement restaurant at the LaiLai Sheraton in Taipei - where the pizza wasn't too horrendous - trying to eat one using a pair of chopsticks!

Sadly this is often the best option on the menu, I had it too a few times (spaghetti usually totally overcooked). For the what-HK-people-think-what-western-food-is like restaurants I quite like the curry too.
