    Wine Management

Ad-hoc buying of wine is getting too expensive.

I want to get some good vino but i don't want to be price-gouged by unplanned visits to the Wine Sections of International Supermarkets?

Are there any good subscription wine clubs? How do I get more efficient on purchasing the plonk?

If you want good wine without paying through the nose, keep an eye out for the specials at Watsons and other retailers.

It also pays to buy by the case - you can often pick up a bit of a discount.

Lastly, new world (esp South American and New Zealand wine) tend to be better value for money than the well know regions of France.

thanks - good call on Watsons.
I guess my goal would be get 10-15% off bottles of wine 200+ HKD RRP
(RRP - a tricky notion given uneveness of supply and consequently pricing).
In the UK, I'd join a wine club to achieve this. I'd get a mixed selection but the wines wouldn't be bad and I'd save some money relative to what I would have.
I guess buying by case is nearest thing here.

Watson's wine is probably the last place i would recommend for good value wines in HK...they are 30 to 50% above market price and their special offers are in fact just normal prices...

I'd recommend online merchants instead for good deals, here are a few

    > wineview.com.hk (great selection of aussie wines)
    > winedirect (try chateau castegens 2010 really good and cheap bordeaux)
    > wine high club
