Vegetarian Canteen at 10,000 Buddhas open?

Was looking to go to the 10,000 Buddhas, but can't confirm if they still have an open canteen. Found one website that says it's closed and it seems it's not on open rice.

Google maps live indicates it might be open but happy cow says it's closed.

Ignore what I said about Google maps. That might be the main Monastery.

Thanks shri will give it a miss. Pity as we quite enjoy the meal and visit at Lantau, Ngong Ping, like this.

Maybe there's other temple vegetarian restaurants that are recommended?

Well I’m at Big Bhudda. Plus point completely empty cable car queue. Minus point scaffolding around most of Bhudda and you can’t get to the view from behind it.

Guess the minus explains the plus!

Off to Tai O. 4 years since last visit

Close by - walking distance - Diamond Hill MTR is the delicious Vegetarian restaurant nestling in the gardens (very worth visiting) in the grounds of CHI LING Nunnery.

I'm NOT a vegetable eater from choice, but the food was very acceptable, BUT one really needs to be at the restaurant doors before it opens at 'HIGH NOON' to ensure getting a seat or two!

SWMBO & I have eaten there twice, and came away very satisfied - and the beauty of it for me (@ 81 y.o) is that apart from a gentle slope up to the entrance from the MTR, it is very flat inside so I don't get "shagged out" with gradients that slay me!

It's nice Wx now, but my wife needs many months recovery time after two serious operations in one day, but we'll be back there again for the "nosh" in a few months.
