    Thread tuned to trash.

    Another recommendation:

The Chairman, Sheung Wan. You won't be disappointed!
You did not help in any way by making a comment about local food being 'disgusting'.

Chairman is good but booked up like crazy. I think it's been 10 years or so since I went. Flower Drum in Wanchai is pretty good too.

Oriental? I've no idea to be honest. I think it's more an American thing, but it's spread out now. I don't mind being called Oriental, but people keep telling me that it's offensive.

Mainland Chinese are very much notorious for wanting to eat Chinese food everywhere they go. I've been on conferences in Bologna etc, and you'll find they all went to eat at the Chinese restaurant rather than the local restaurants - pasta and ham isn't really that 'exotic'.

The Chairman is the best Chinese restaurant I've ever dined at and easily top five of all restaurants I've dined at.
The cost of the fish is also eye-wateringly expensive but (in my mind) worth it.

It's just cultural. In America, 'Oriental' is offensive, in the UK, it's just a word to describe people from the Far East.

All British are very much notorious for wanting to eat British food everywhere they go.

Chicken feet, pig intestines, tripe, sweetbreads are disgusting. Not eating those does not make one 'picky'. LOL!

Never said 'local'. That's all you.

    Stop 'shit posting'.

Dim Sum is HK's calling card. A must.
Do you have a recommendation? The ones I used to go didn't survive COVID... 😔

For central and tourist friendly, My Social Place is good.

But the best will be local ones in the suburbs - search your local area to find the good ones!
