Philippine visa for HK Resident holding PRC passport and a valid Schengen visa

I am trying to figure out whether my PRC wife who is holding a working permit in Hong Kong and who has a valid one-year Schengen visa can freely travel to the Philippines or not?

i read on some discussion board that the Schengen visa exempts her from getting a visa, but i can't find any official information.

    Can anyone help?

Considering all Schengen countries are in Europe, I can't quite see how it would apply to the Philippines.

i think the Phils basically says you are a more trustworthy person if you already hold a Schengen visa

here's my sources (not govt though)

I noticed that Phil immigration only issued 7 days visa free to me as well even am holding HongKong Passport. I was there for 3 days only so that was fine by me. But dont understand why only 7 days? Thailand immigration issued a month to me before, lol.

Probably same reason hk immigration only usually gives 7 days visa free entry to philippine tourists.

Several countries have a rule that if you hold a current visa to the US, UK or Schengen then you are "visa on arrival". For example, this is true for passport holders of many countries wishing to enter Taiwan.
