"However, you could also just jump in a taxi from Hong Kong station which will cost you about $30-$40 HKD as it is only about 10 minutes away"

Oh really? I thought that the taxi will cost $275 HKD as per the MTR website to go from Airport to Wanchai? If taxi is that cheap, I would jus take the taxi. I am going to live at Garden East apartments in Wanchai.

Taxi from Airport is around HK$275.

You can get the Airport Express Train to HK Station (HK$100) and then taxi (HK$40) to save money.

The cheapest way is the A11 airport bus for HK$40.

As I said, a taxi would $30-$40 from Hong Kong station, not the airport. $100 Airport Express + $30 taxi. Your apartments are very close to Wanchai MTR, so whether you get the MTR, taxi or free shuttle bus depends on how tired you are and how much luggage you have!
