Steal the salt sachets from the inflight meal then sell them when you land, Your flight cost is covered then

Which ones? We were supposed to go on ski tour to Nagano last Sunday but the tour was cancelled the day before in light of the earthquakes. When I checked, our travel insurance would not have covered us in this case. Luckily, our travel agent managed to get us full refunds, though heard Delta Air was being really difficult about it.

Because not everyone enjoys vacationing in a place that was hit by a disaster and even if Kyoto is "far" from the disaster hit area, the whole of Japan is under tremendous pressure. Not necessarily the idea of a fun and relaxing holiday.

    His choice.

Yet all it does when people react this way is take money out of the tourist industry of a hard hit country. Let's all hit while they are down. Yeah. Makes me sick. You have the wimps bailing out of perfectly safe holidays and the yahoos who want an adventure trying to fly over to "help" (yeah, gawk at the wreckage) and cause logistical problems. Crazy.

Totally worthless if you are an HK resident:

"This plan is available to US and Canadian residents only."

    as I said, his choice.

never said you had to not travel there nor not to contribute to the tourism industry but I can fully understand that ppl may not want to go to Tokyo (or anywhere else in japan) enjoying themselves while the ordinary citizen is going thru this.

Now going there and helping, yes why not.
