    Palawan

    Hi-

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions of great places to stay for relatively cheap in Palawan? I'm interested in doing a more roughin' it trip since I'm going solo so no need for a posh 5 star hotel or the sort, I'm looking to stay there for a week or two. I want to paddle, hike, snorkel, and other adventurous activities, if anyone highly suggests and ecofriendly group, please let me know!

Brilliant reply. Really took some time to address the OP's question there.

Probably fly into Puerto Princessa and look around/enquire once you're there. Been a while since I was there (spent several years working on an island off the southern tip of Palawan, and around Busuanga some time back)
There were plenty of eco-style destinations being developed at that time (North of PP, up around El Nido) - I dare say its come along way since then
