    Boracay Advice?

I am planning a 3 night trip to Boracay with my gf in early Sep this year and was wondering if anyone any hotel recommendations? I am looking for something right on the beach. Since it is the lean season can I also assume there are some decent deals to be had? Any advice on where to search?

I have been recommended the below hotels…please comment if anyone have stayed there or knows anything about them.

    Rod Coconut
    Seawind
    The Sito Boracay
    Nigi Nigi Nu Noos
    Villa Camilla
    Punta Rosa
    Mika's Place

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I just went with a group of about 8 friends on July 1-4.

We were looking for the beach front spots as well, just an FYI I don't think you will find many Beach Front type places. The layout of the place is the beach, then a row of trees/beach chairs, a path that goes along the beach and all of the accommodation is on the other side of the path. While you will not be literally on the beach, you can be on the beach in 1-2 minutes.

Accommodation - you didn't list a price range, but seeing how Villa Camilla is listed and I looked at that place as well.. I'm assuming you want something fairly cheap. To be honest, don't bother yourself with checking websites and being stressed out. If you arrive late a night, then by all means sort something out for the first night. But I suggest just walking along the path and checking out several different places.

Since we had a lot of people staying with us, we were able to negotiate the price down a little, I also got 2 free buckets of beer from our hotel bar... So don't be shy, they are more than willing to make a deal.

I wish I could remember the name of the place I stayed, but I was too preoccupied with living a short weekend in heaven!!! The place we stayed was about 25 USD per night, so divided by two, that shouldn't be too bad. We were in Station 2 and there were plenty of other places in that same price range.

Be warned - there is a group of 3 very adorable local girls (maybe 8-10 years old) who sell necklaces at night... I suggest you but some pesos aside to buy a necklace!

Enjoy your trip and feel free to message me if you need any more info!

there are three stations in boracay - station 1 is the "upper market" area - you'll find fridays , seawind and discovery shores there

station 2 is in the middle and usually that's where most people go - red coconut is there

station 3 on the other end is deemed as the less expensive area and where most "backpackers" accomodations are there i.e. basic no frills

for a treat - go to shangri-la - it is located on a private cove or something

depends on your budget and what facilities you want .

note 1. there are so many places in boracay but many of them are "back of the road" locations

note 2 go to this link - White Beach, Boat Station 1 - My Boracay Guide
to check out the map of different accommodations in different stations and areas

note 3 - there are no standard star ratings here. one resort may deem themselves as 3 star but actually it is one star so be aware !

Rod Coconut. Love it. Sounds like a 70s porn star. Or a reggae singer. Anyhow, stayed at Red Coconut once. It was all right, right by the busy little street (a 'street' of sand if you will) with tons of touts but you are only 10 seconds from the beach. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. Food was all right for Boracay standards. Frequent power cuts on the island but Red Coconut has a backup generator which is a bonus. Beware of heavy seas this time of year. To say it gets windy would be an understatement. It's a hit or miss destination during low season.

Cool. I would like to keep it under USD$100 per night. Emailed some places directly and most didnt really offer much of a discount. Since we are planning to to stay in MNL one night then head over to Bor the next morning we should have planty of time to be able to find a plase by walking up and down the beach right?

What about airlines from MNL to Bor? Seems there a mutiple lines into Cat and Kal.

the shangri-la? the op says they want to keep it under 100 usd a nite... i don't think you'll get anywhere with 100 usd bucks at the shang...

btw - email correspondence really doesn't work in the philippines... lucky that some had replied to you but you won't get any luck getting a reply or if they do, you will get a feedback after some time... if you can, best to call them directly.

Yes. This time of year you'll have no trouble showing up without a reservation. The place is swamped with various types of accommodation. Keep in mind White Beach may not be suitable for swimming if the southwest monsoon season has begun. Bulabog beach may be calmer. If you are up for a tiny bit of adventure just show up and see what the situation is when you arrive. Talk to the locals to get advice on weather patterns. They speak much better English than general folk in HK and are very friendly.
