Bintan/Batam are fine for a quick getaway if you're in Singapore, but you can't spend more than a day there.

The flooding in Thailand is in the interiors, Phuket should be fine. If you don't want to take a chance, I would suggest Langkawi. Lombok is also nice, but it's pretty wet this time of the year.

oh i have been to Langkawi.....so dont feel like going again. been to Phuket as well...always wanted to go back again but it seems not very good at this moment to Thailand since the flooding. so my bf suggested about the Bintan since its a short trip. I only have 4 days off in total....

Phuket is not near Bangkok. Should be ok.
Wouldn't bother with Bintan, heard that it's really over-priced and not worth it. I used to live in Singapore and friends put us off.

my post basically said the same thing as satay sue...

it would be like cancelling a trip to Hong Kong because there is a rainstorm in shanghai!

floods everywhere in Thailand not just bangkok, look at the north part of area as well. so better avoid this country for travelling at this moment but thanks all for sharing your opinion here
