    Cebu

Any recommendations on somewhere to stay in Cebu. Want somewhere really nice but not too expensive i.e. not Shangri La.

Cheaper than Shang and much nicer water and facilities than the Mactan bunch :

BTW how long did it take you to get to the resort from Cebu airport? Did the hotel arrange the transfers for you?

90 minutes from the airport. Yes arranged transfers through the hotel. Much easier to do it that way.
    Really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

For those looking at Cebu, recommend Airphilexpress for flights - in Jan their flights worked out 60% cheaper than Cathay. Only downer is the 7am return flight but after chilling out not a big deal really!

"funny" that this topic would come up today just when a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Cebu and Negros today...
The Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) measured it at 6.9, at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres, centred off the heavily populated central island provinces of Negros and Cebu.

when are you planning to go?

there are new hotels including radisson blu and marco polo. movenpick...

or you can try maribago, costabella, plantation bay, cordova etc

depends on what your budget is and what amenities you are looking for

Which of these hotels would be closest to the airport? With a hyperactive toddler, a 90 min ride is not exactly ideal....
