    Getaway in Philippines

Any suggestions for a weekend getaway at the end of February - ideally looking for something "luxury" like a pool villa but at a discount or good price. Any ideas? Any groupon or other coupons people seen? Any great places yet to be discovered by the mass market that are still affordable?

Targeting Phils as I'll be there in the week with MrMin on business, so we can avoid the international airfare......

A friend of mine who's from the Philippines swears by Pagudpud, he says it's not as touristy as the others. Not too sure myself as I've never been, but might be worth checking out.

Vigan, but it is historical rather than a resort. Golden Sunset resort in Batangas looks nice on the TV (enough that we are thinking of going there).

A friend of mine strongly recommended this place (3 hour drive south of Manila, mainly on expressways) when he went there a couple of years back. He said it was cheap, but I don't have specific figures to hand. Acuatico Resort

That does look nice. NOt sure how to get there though without a car, but cannot be THAT expensive in a taxi????? (Or perhaps there is a good bus?)

According to their Contact Us page they have a reservations office in Makati City, so you could talk to them if you're there, or even by email/phone they almost certainly have an arrangement with some transport that can take you there from Manila.
