Question Easter diving: Similan's, Puerto Galera or Bohol

    Hi

I'm looking at diving options for the Easter break. prodive is running tours to the Similan's (live aboard), Puerto Galera and Bohol.

Now the question is which one to go on!!

I have already done a Similan's liveaboard, and haven't been to the other two destinations. However obviously with the Similan's I'll be getting way more dives in.

While a consideration will be going to a new destination, another major consideration will be quality of the dives.

    cheers!!!

I'm considering the ProDive similans trip too, but I have reservations about flying Orient Thai!

I did PG a few years ago and loved it, my boss went there for CNY too and he had a good time. It's worth the trip.

We are just back from Bohol and the diving was fantastic - went with Prodive and stayed at the Oasis Resort.
Friends went to PG last summer and thought the diving was great.

I went to PG last Easter and can recommend it - stayed at Club Mabuhay. If you have already been to the Similans then why not give somewhere else a go before going back.

Best diving around PG is at Verde Island.

ya I decided not to fly Orient Thai, its just not worth the risk. i've heard nothing but bad feedback. I'll do the similans another time.

it's summer break in the Philippines (i.e. school's out) so expect it to be crowded in most resorts.

plus it's a religious holiday there too so it would be good to do a little checking to see if and which shops and services are open on those days most specially in Bohol

    how about El Nido?

Actually, I'm thinking of El Nido for my honeymoon. Has anyone been there? I've heard lots of good things.

A friend also recommended Club Paradise Palawan, which is half the price of El Nido. Anybody been to both?

    yes both are nice!!!!

the difference is that el nido is more posh and the price usually includes everything. and you can go to their sister property lagen

the surrounds of el nido are also much nicer, and more closer to the open sea. if you have only one chance to go and are able to afford it - then go for el nido. and since it's a honeymoon, i would also go for el nido.

now if you have more money to burn, i know there is an amanpulo there.

seems the only trip they are running over easter now, due to numbers is the similan's one.

i really want to go diving over the easter, so may take the plunge, so to speak!
