I get the Diamond thing... been there done that.

However, now in my wiser days (and travelling on my own dime), I prefer to fly cheaper and spend more on hotels and dining.

It is all a bit like narcotic drugs.... you love it, talk about it, promote it... until you cannot afford it.

Yday, picked up 3 tickets to Penang (now sold out) for bit over $5000 for 3ppl (tax incl).
There is still Rome & Beijing available for November at very attractive price - with that much advance notice, most everyone should be able to grab some attractive bargains....
You know we were debating whether or not to buy those tickets but by the time we decided they were already gone. I have heard the food there is incredible!

If it's almost double the price in total cost I can get similar tix anytime at Kayak.
I prefer having a free stopover somewhere to see even more places

MLE seems to be a new route for them. HX will also be flying there.

The short notice flight to Sydney also looks like an excellent deal...$4592 including taxes ($1990 no tax)

I saw that. Wish they would put some good value biz deals on though - not flying that far in Economy!

Has Cathay ever put any non-economy ticket on fanfares? I've been following them for a while and I dont recall ever seeing First/Biz/PremEco tickets; I only see the cattle class....

There was a Biz promo advertised on there once that I saw. Not quite in the fanfares but a link to a good deal. Not where I wanted to go unfortunately.
