    That is a ripoff price

Just to add HC...I don't want to have an argument about it...just responding to folks calling CTS a dumb idea and so on...there are CTSs everywhere...the queues are short and they are very professional, just because it's not your cup of tea, etc...
Nothing to argue about, Its a ripoff. go anywhere else to ge a better deal

How much can you get a 2 year multi on a Brit. passport for then? And where?

No need to mention bloody Central either...taking half a day off work twice to save a few hundred dollars might make sense to a cleaner...

British passport at the FMCOPRC for a tourist L-Visa:

2170 HKD for 1 year multi entry if holding a non-Permanent HKID
2170 HKD for 3 year multi entry if holding a Permanent HKID

4 working day turnaround at the FMCOPRC; HKD cash payment on collection

Requires: Forms, Photographs and proof of travel (e.g. hotel booking)

Thanks. I heard a rumour that the Shenzhen on arrival Lo Wu border office was accepting credit card, but I have not confirmed

have you ever used the Shenzhen FMCOPRC visa issuing office?

it's noted that the CTS office is there in Lo wu, maybe they accept credit card or other methods of payments?

No I have never used the Shenzhen FMCOPRC.

However, I found the Wan Chai - China Resources Building FMCOPRC to be very pleasant and efficient - almost looks like a 5* hotel in the interior

My 10 cents on the FMCOPRC in Wan Chai: it's quick, efficient and pleasant. The only downside being that you have to go (or send someone) during their restricted weekday office hours (M-F only), so can be hard to escape the office. Having said that, if you have the paperwork before you go there, it is quite quick.

I can only imagine CTS (fee premium) being a better option if you have absolutely no time or really can't get to the Wan Chai FMCOPRC
