    Australia

    Good afternoon everybody,

I need your help as I am planning to go to Australia and I would like to know if my Italian driving licence is valid or not there.

I have an ETA visa; I read somewhere that with a tourist visa the conversion of the Italian licence in an international one is not required.

Is there any Italian expat who already faced this problem?

    Thank you very much!!!!!

As in most other countries, tourists can use a valid overseas license. Check this for details:

    Visitors to NSW

PS: You do realise that this is not an Australian forum, right?

    From which:

When driving in NSW you must carry your overseas driver licence. Your licence must be written in English or, if the licence is not in English, you must either carry an English translation or an International Driving Permit.
What form of translation is required is not clear, but it is clear that a licence written solely in Italian is not sufficient.

Thankyou. And out of curiosity, are Italian driving licenses completely devoid of English?
