I can thoroughly recommend EVA Air business class from BKK to UK.

Did that last month for HK$22,000 which is a fraction of what Cathay, Virgin etc charge direct from HK.

Very comfortable flat bed and good food/service.

    emx and wtbhotia like this.

Anything would be an improvement, flew on them in 2012 and would rather not try it again.

Turkish or Thai business class is perfectly acceptable to Europe and the UK. Much cheaper than CX or SQ.

If I have to fly to Germany on Economy, then I would always take Finnair, because as a wise man once said (and repeated ad nauseaum) all economy are the same. But business class from HK to Germany, where basically you fly business from HK-Helsinki and then get on a small craft from there to Germany is just not worth it as they are still flying 20 year old planes.

They may have been aggressively advertising their new fleet...

According to members on flyertalk.com, it's a bit hit and miss whether you will get the new fully flat seats. Just accept that you'll get the angled seat and anything above is a bonus!
