Yes, but they still insisted on airline and hotel reservations. So, I showed the airline and hotel reservations to get the visa. Canceled them after I got the visa and then went by train.

Pai, could you explain where you got your Shenzhen visa? If you had to wait three days, then I'm guessing you weren't waiting at the border for it to be processed.

However, I'd LMAO if you said the Shenzhen visa office at Lo Wu train station insisted on eveidence of flights. At least that would be consistent with the total inconsistency of the last few months.

To the OP, I've heard lots of reports of HKID holders (except those on the list of excepted countries) getting the 5-day Shenzhen only visa at Lo Wu since this whole fiasco began.

Since it's not that far way, perhaps it's just worth heading up there yourself and giving it a go. The worst that can happen is you'll have wasted a couple of hours finding out.

Of course I didn't wait 3 days at the border I applied at the chinese visa office in wan chai. Since I was going just a few weeks before the Olympics began, I was told that I wouldn't be able to get a visa at the border.

PS: I also hold an Indian passport.

Pai>> you went 1.5 months back, that time i know no one was getting shenzhen visa due to olympics but now ID holders are getting it on LoWu border, Indian passport holders and Pakistani passport holders.
Getting mixed answers from everywhere actually, so really confused.

Just to confirm that I went to Shenzhen over the weekend, and was able to get SZ-only, five-day visa without any problems at all at the Lo Wu visa office. There were no other customers in the visa office, and no waiting time. It took about two minutes.

I'm an Australian passport holder, with HKID. The code on my HKID is "CO", which basically means I am a non-permanent resident, who was born in a foreign country.

I'd say that if you're a HKID holder and your passport was previously entitled to it, then you should have no problems getting this visa at the border.

I also noticed a sign which states the office is open until 10:30pm.
