the obvious location of the terminus was Kam Sheung Rd so it would be a real fast rail and not white waste of our money elephant
so they expect NT residents to travel to West Kowloon to take a train to go back through the NT to a China building site
HKG Book sellers and pro independence flag bearers are advised to buy single tickets only
Meanwhile - The KCR has now decided that park and ride is too convenient so they are going to build a high rise on Kam Sheung Rd car park - work started
The high rise will have a basement parking area smaller than the current car park has - if you are not in the carpark by 0745 you cannot get in anyway The result of course is that they will drive and park downtown and the traffic will get even worse
And the Govt will soon start building low cost housing above the Kam Tin KCR railyards
In 2021 they will have a meeting to decide how they are going to transport all the people when in the mornings the traffic jam through the Tai Lam tunnel extends beyond the toll booths already with a tailback from the airport bridge offramp
    Complete F-wits
Peter Principle Govt graduates earn GBS and GBM gongs for getting it all wrong

First of all, goods transport will be directed along that bridge. This will reduce pollution in the following ways.

    a) Reduce total distance of goods being transported
    b) Goods transport from to airport & Kwai Chung harbour doesn't pass to pass through dense urban areas

    For passengers

    a) Support for electric transport
    b) A reduction of emissions from ferries

How much goods traffic goes from the airport to the container terminal?
Doesn't it make more sense for the container vessels to berth closer to where the goods are needed, rather than build a road bridge to cater for this?
Why not just change the road bridge into a rail bridge ...

A bumpy start for express rail ticket sale - RTHK
But many others did not have such a favourable experience. With MTR staff still getting used to the new ticketing system, the queue moved at a snail’s pace.
RTHK journalists who bought three return tickets to Guangzhou South reported that it took railway staff 13 minutes to process the transaction – excluding the time spent waiting in line.

I was able to easily book a train in Thailand online a couple of months ago - I was sent an eticket which I printed out and showed to the ticket collector on the train. None of this faffing around of having to go to the station, join a long queue, just to get the ticket printed out. I wonder if the 'Chief Economist' factored this time spent into his calculations when working how many billions the project would save the HK economy ...

How do the entry gates look? I was under the impression that each train ticket will have your name printed on it, so will this be checked by personel prior to even getting to passport control? Or is like in in e.g. tw where you just swipe it and go in ?

The practical solution would of been Kam Sheung Rd with a a couple of links between New Territories East & West. But spending the the public's money and trampling over the basic seem to take precedent over developing Hong Kong

they should have employed a consortium of Deutsche Bahn and Shinkansen to build the damn thing instead of overpaid arrogant oafs at KCR jobs for the boys
Kam Sheung Rd is 4km from the border with easy connections to West Rail available - by 2020 63% of HKG population will reside in the NT
Shinkansen apologised recently when one of the bullet trains left 30 seconds early
Deutsche Bahn issues your ticket or chosen seat online and travels at 300 kph from Frankfurt to Koeln in 48 minutes
