RE: China Mobile SIM for Mainland

I have read through a few threads about getting online in mainland.

Does anyone have any recent information on purchasing a SIM in HK to use in Mainland that would allow for local calls, data that can access google and facebook? Cheaper the better = )

Thinking about going to a local China Mobile store in HK before I head up there.

    TIA

I will probably be picking one up tomorrow - but just a data SIM. Don't need voice or SMS.

China Mobile seems to have the best deal on Data SIMs. Better to have it activated in the shop so you don't have to deal with things lost in translation.

No clue about accessing Google or Facebook.

Make sure your phone supports TD-SCDMA, if not expect slooooow speed. If unsure, get Unicom. They have normal 3G standard. LTE works fine with them too.

It said 4G so just assumed it would be lte and would work on a HK compatible phone. Thanks for the heads up.

Was thinking of getting this one.
