    Reload Octopus Card

    Hi all,

My bank account is not finished set up so I cannot transfer my money here yet. Is there any way I can reload my octopus card using my credit card? Would this be done at MTR station or any 7/11?

    Thanks

Octopus topup is cash only unless you have a local bank account

Either do a cash withdrawal from your credit card or get your employer to front you some cash - if that is even possible+

Uhh, you could set up AAVS. No other way to top up from a credit card.

EDIT: Ah, this won't work if you have a foreign credit card.

I would assume if the OP had a local credit card, he would not have problems topping up... the problem is... I think ... no access to a local functioning account.

Cash popup is the only option for Octopus card.Though you can totally ask your employer or some friend who can help you with his local account.

If your phone has NFC, install the Octopus App. register an octopus account, get someone to fps you money and transfer it to your card.

There is an Octopus traveller app that lets you top up using overseas credit cards. Of course it comes with a hefty fee built into the exchange rate. I can't remember exactly what it was but it's somewhere between 5 to 10 percent.

Can you open any of those accounts without an ID card?
