Final update:
I just called 5577 7796 and booked a taxi with 15% discount. Another taxi driver called me 15 min before the appointed time and came promptly. He tried to take the Western tunnel and I had to direct him back to Central tunnel. But ultimately, it cost me only HKD 230 from Wanchai to the airport.

On taking the bus to the airport:
If there are 3-4 people, the bus would cost HKD 120-160. If you have luggage, you may need to take a taxi to the bus stop, costing some more. So the difference between taxi and bus could be HKD 50-100. Then, it boils down to comfort versus this extra cost.
Of course, if it is just one person, then bus is far cheaper.
