Are there any significant Covid restrictions left anywhere*?

    * except China, of course. And if you're not vaccinated, a lot of this doesn't apply...

Taiwan is dropping to a fairly vague 0+7 in a couple of weeks - mostly seems to entail doing the occasional RAT and not going to hospitals or care homes.

Japan is pretty much dropping all restrictions around the same time.

South Korea is apparently dropping their (paid, for non-residents) PCR-on-arrival requirement tomorrow.

Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, no real restrictions anymore?

Anywhere outside East/South-East Asia which still has restrictions?

I don't count limited masking and landing forms as restrictions.

    Hong Kong.

    Face mask
Not more than 8 in restaurant
    RAT for bar etc

These should be all dropped by now.

Yeah, can't believe TW drops quarantine AFTER HK...sigh.

And we're never, ever, ever dropping mask requirements, at least on mass transit and places like indoor malls, churches. There are 3 year olds who have never seen relative's/caregiver's faces.

But, other than that, we had stopped scanning QR codes last year (that was a huge improvement in life). Restaurants also didn't close this year for in-person dining, for which I was grateful. Although some still have seats "x"'d out for covid, as does my church...

Singapore - if you go to the A&E and had a fever in the past couple of days..they won't let you into the hospital building. They set up tents in the parking lot with beds, etc...you don't get into the building until they do a pcr test (rapid tests not accepted la).

However if you're discharged after less than a day, they do let you into the building (most specifically, to the cashier's desk) to settle your bill. No test needed - everyone knows that COVID is not infectious when you only pop to the shroff to part with money...

No idea what happens if you are not discharged within the day and you have to stay overnight.

You have to wear FFP2 masks on trains in Italy. And it's enforced. Got told off by a ticket person when I forgot!

Masks on public transport in Portugal when I was there. The tram drivers were enforcing but compliance on the train was low...until the police did a walk through and reminded everyone to mask up.

As far as I know, Japan still requires 3 shots (not sinovac) or PRC test before departure... Everywhere else most people only have 2 shots... Hong Kongers will enjoy the place for themselves !

Vietnam is 100% open in Asia : no vax required nor tests
