Question BEA points to Asia Miles or...?

I just noticed that my 1 Million+ bonus points accumulated with BEA will expire in 2 weeks (thanks for letting me know BEA!).

I know using them to shop is rather pointless as the prices are MSRP or higher, I saw I can convert them to Asia Miles at 40k pts for 5k Asia Miles. Is this a decent conversion? Are there any other options?

I'm not a regular CP flyer but I'd have enough for a long haul and/or a couple of short haul flights, better than nothing I suppose?

Can these be offset against statement? If yes, how much points for HK$1 of statement offset?

Not sure but "buying" a spending credit card would only net $3400 on 1M pts vs. 125,000 Asia miles for the same amount. However am I to understand that you need a certain "status" on CP to use the AM or not?

You don't need any status to use AsiaMiles to book a ticket.

125K miles should be enough for two round trips (or 1.7) to the EU? Just have to book well in advance.

I think 3400 credit vs 125K AM is easy to decide. AM for sure. No status required for redeeming tickets against miles - just that ticket should be available for redemption on your route and date !

Great, thanks! Just saw they were both featured in boxes on the flight redemption page.

Although Cathay Pacific is one of the founding members of the Oneworld alliance, Asia Miles has partnered with multiple airlines outside the alliance.
As of August 2022, other than Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary airline HK Express, partnered airlines include:

Apparently Asia Miles redemption isn't available for VISA

    Remarks:
Asia Miles Redemption is only available for BEA World Mastercard and/or BEA Flyer World Mastercard registered for BEA Mileage Reward.
