Easily solved by speaking English in front of the flight attendant, isn't it

Flying LHR-HKG next month in PE on CX A350. one-way <£900. The alternative for me would be Emirates, but the PE ticket only provides PE seating on the London leg. Price ~ £1000 one-way. BA or Finnair I will avoid.

Priced PE from SYD-HKG - NRT - INC - HKG - SYD for two and it was cheaper than SYD-HKG-SYD. Admittedly the HKG - NRT and INC-HKG are not PE (only economy). And NRT-INC is not included (cathay would want me to return to HKG and fly out again)

Similar discrepancies for SYD-HKG-JKF and return. I'm assuming that routes from SYD-> anywhere else has lots of competition and CX is still trying to get the booking, rather than lose it to an airline. I could do SYD-INC direct, etc. Can easily hit silver with one trip in J.

    ymmv.

It was the price for an Essential Economy Class ticket. Still some dates available in November at that price around £860 for one-way LHR-HKG in PE. Able to select seat at time of booking. Apart from this one unusual example, current CX pricing in PE and Business looks too high and uncompetitive. Reminds me of the pricing failure of Thai Airways who lost touch with their market.
