    Question To SZ airport

Flying out of SZ airport for CNY.

Just want to check a few things.

The plan is to spend one night in SZ itself and then fly from the airport. We will be at Queen's Spa for the one night. How far is the airport from there roughly and I guess what is the easiest way to the airport (am presuming its going to be taxi. If it is taxi, any idea on rough cost).

On the way back my grand scheme was to use the PRD airport scheme, to get back to HKG airport and clear immigration there. However to use this scheme it seems you need to have an onward flight from HKG. Has anyone tried this without having an onward ticket.

Failing that, seems the best option is either bus and then ferry to Macau ferry terminal or bus to kowloon or wanchai.

Oh, another thing. I'll be entering China with my china visa. Is there any issue in using SZ to fly internationally.

Any other options I have missed out.

    Thanks!!!!

Assuming you fly out of China ->Do you have a multiple entry visa? cos if you only have a one entry one, you will not be able to come back to SZ when you return.

queens spa to airport by taxi 1 hour couple hundred yuan-if you are not familiar with shenxen better just get a taxi (but there is a cheaper minibus from Lowu bus/train station)

you better allow much more time for everything as at cny there really are big crowds at airports border crossings etc

I highly recommend the newish bus service using the Shenzhen Bay crossing from Shenzhen airport to Kowloon station. Immigration is very quick, and the bus fast as well.

    OK, so back from hols.

Here is how things worked out for SZ airport.

On the way there we were staying at Queen's. They got us a taxi, charged us around 50 RMB, was a 20 min ride.

We were flying with Air Asia. They are actually based in the new "international" terminal, which is a separate building from the rest of the airport. Its pretty small, and there is not much there.

Landside, there are a couple of shops, one being a cafe. Because its pretty new, not so many flights. As a result security and immigration was very quick. Airside, mainly seats and one restaurant and a business class lounge (which we used).

Coming back to SZ, again used the international terminal. Again, result was swift immigration clearance and baggage pick up.

For getting to HK, got the bus service to Wanchai. You can buy the tickets from the international terminal or head to the main terminal. There are several counters with competing agencies, but it seems there is only one company going to Wanchai. The prices are all the same, at RMB 100 per person. Bus takes you to border, where you get out and clear immigration (go with your luggage, as you change bus at other end). You then get back on the bus, and 5 mins later have to get off again to clear HK immigration, where you get back on the bus again.

Total time from SZ airport to Wanchai was about 90 minutes. You are dropped off opposite the Southern Playground in Wanchai.

One note, with the bus service, we basically had to walk very fast from clearing immigration both times to get a seat on the bus, as it did get filled up pretty quickly.
