    Singapore/Malaysia recommendations?

Thanks to our airline destroying our schedule on a previous trip, we have basically free tickets to Singapore. Couple that with some time off in the next few months and we have a trip in the making. My wife loves the spa experience, and thinks she would get bored in Singapore over the course of a week, so I was wondering if there are any spas or nice beaches in Malaysia that are close and convenient to Singapore? Perhaps a couple or three days in each place would be good. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Singapore is like a day trip, a cleaner mirror image of HK is what I think. From Singapore you can cross over to Malaysia through Johor, then you can head up north to Malacca (a Fishing village with lots of resorts and then onto KL and then take a 1 hr flight back to Singapore. from Singapore to KL by car is about 4 hours. Real Destination : Singapore : Holidays : Kuala Lumpur

I'll offer a different opinion... I'd surely know how to spend a week in Singapore without getting bored in the least. Singapore surely has not as many landmarks as Hong Kong, so if you're primarily looking to take photos of you in front of famous buildings then a day is enough
But it has some excellent museums, gardens (orchid garden especially), way more colonial architecture than HK (Fullerton or Raffles Hotel, if it fits your budget), and you'll need at least a week to taste half of the signature dishes. If you're planning to go for a week, I'd spend three nights in Singapore and then head to Malaysia for some nice beaches. Plenty of choices. If you're into something a bit more unusual, you could take the night train through the jungle to Wakaf Bahru (near the Thai border) and stay at Pulau Perhentian Besar, which has some really excellent beaches and is anything else then crowded.

Depends a lot on what you're into and what your budget is.
