hmm, the issue with that is flying with oriental thai.
just for that, i would probably be staying away from what seems like a great deal.

We did a similar trip a couple of weeks back - out of HK on Friday night, back Sunday afternoon, flying Emirates, staying at the D'Ma Ramada, which happens to be directly across the road from the Ecotel. It's not a bad neighbourhood, but it's not exactly tourist central, and you'll need cabs to get to and from town, which means an argument over using the meter when you want to go anywhere... We paid $3000 for 2 of us, all in, so maybe slightly more - but a much better airline, by the sound of things.

Saw this OX deal last week too. Tried OX before and it sucked big time, the plane was in bad shape and we experienced delay in taking off (might as well spending more time on bed zzzzzzzz had we known it!) so kind of hesitant to give OX another try ...
What I know is Ecotel is now fully booked and you got to pay $150 to stay in another hotel. Still cheap but OX does make me think ...
