Beijing airport terminal transfer time?

I'm going to be transiting through Beijing on a split itinerary, meaning that I will be arriving at Terminal 2, need to pass customs and collect my bad, and then take the shuttle to Terminal 3, check-in and recheck my bag. Any idea how much time I need to allow for all this? I'm thinking five hours should cover me for this process and in case my inbound flight is a bit late.

Any thoughts/experiences?
