    Lamma Island hotel / b&b

    Hi,

My parents are travelling over from the UK in a couple of months and seem quite taken with the idea of staying on Lamma. Does anyone know of any decent hotels / b&bs on the island? I've visited the place plenty of times but don't remember seeing any (I wasn't looking for them, of course), so if anyone can recommend any then great!

    Cheers,

    Nick

The Man Lai Wah Hotel is near the ferry pier in Sok Kwu Wan.

Concerto Inn is on the beach at Hung Shing Yeh.

There's a couple of 'holiday resorts' in Yung Shue Wan (more details on request).
If they're coming for 2-4 weeks it might beb worth seeing if you can sublet someone's apartment. There's usually a few advertised for short let on the wall near the ferry pier.

Sorry, but The Man Lai Wah Hotel is in Yung Shue Wan, not Sok Kwu Wan. If you get the Sok Kwu Wan ferry you will have a very long walk ahead of you!

There are several guest houses in Yung Shue Wan. I can recommend Bali Guest House - they have a dozen or more rooms located in several different buildings, all close to the pier and all clean and with TV, DVD, fridge etc. Some have kitchens too. Their office is beside the Lamma Bakery (get off ferry, keep walking, past The Island Bar and the toilets and then turn left).

Most of the guest houses don't provide meals, but you are only a few feet away from all the restaurants anyway, so it allows you to choose what you fancy.

The Concerto is nice and in a beautiful location overlooking the beach, though it is much more expensive than the other options and it's quite a hike to there from the ferry, especially in the summer heat and humidity (say 20-30mins). The beach is also packed at the weekends, so not very peaceful.

Sorry, not sure why I wrote Sok Kwu Wan. It's a nice walk though!

Thanks very much, everyone! At least I've got a few good options to give them now ...

Not sure they'll be here long enough for a sublet - I'll take a closer look a those guest houses though.

    Thanks again!
