Hi Shah, was wondering how your backpacking went in Macau. Have been there once and tried walking, bus, taxi, etc but found the place difficult to navigate. Hope you had some good experience to share. Cheers.

There are free maps and walking guides available from the tourist office at the ferry terminal. Buses are cheap and cost around MOP3-5, although you can use HK$ coins.

Yes, would also like to know how this went for you. Plan on backpacking macau next week and would like tips on some places off the beaten tourist path! There HAS to be more to Macau then casinos!

There is much much more than the casinos. See the Macau Tourism Office walking tours for example.

Check my posts on this forum about Macau, tehre is a LOT MORE than casino in Macau. In fact, I am almost pretty sure there are more historical sights in Macau than in HK....

Should add that food is on average much better than in HK (price/quaility/quantity) and ppl are usually very friendly (altough this is - sadly - changing little by little....I guess the HK influence of "competition", "making money"...is playing in full swing: gosh 5/6 years ago there weren't one 7/11 or Circle K,or Midland Reality, or Centaline....nbut now....)
