    As well as the Macau taxis not accepting HKD10 coins, you should not accept either. Nearly 100% of the one in circulation in Macau are fakes. Dull coloured, moldy and alway heavier then the real ones.

    Safer to receive HKD10 in notes if accepting change from taxis, shops etc...

    I actually do have a $10 HK coin from my last visit in 2007. What is the go with $10 coins? Why would anyone in Macau make fake ones when the value of them are so low. I will remember not to accept any $10coins whilst I am there. Thanks

    They are made in China, not Macau. Remember in China anything can be faked - for example the eggs!

    you can use HKD in Macau but you will have MOP for the changes.
    HK does not accept MOP tho (i have no clue why, dont ask me:P).

    unless you want them to keep the change, i suggest you to pay macau cabbies exact amount in HKD.
