Looking for somewhere that is a mix of beach and culture (can be a 2 or 3 destination trip - eg few days travelling around, few days beach) for Christmas. Within a few hours' flight of HK, and likely to be a good time of year for the weather.

howabout Cambodia then - culture at Angkor and some beaches in south - or head to Thailand and Koh Chang afterwards.

OK I've been to Vietnam, Cambodia, Bali, Singapore and Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Tao and Koh Samui). I was thinking maybe Malaysia, but I think it would need to be West coast as East and Borneo gets a lot of rain at that time of year. Or somewhere like that.
