    Hi Lucinda,

This is Jen. I am Chinese who lived in the States last decade and relocated to HKG almost 3 years ago. My life is HKG is all about works luckily I have friends visiting me from time to time to keep me "alive".

I would love to travel to more places if possible. Enjoy hiking, yoga, museums, and would like to do more scuba diving. I could join you to explore HKG a bit more over the weekends since I am also interested in what you want to do here in HKG.

Been to Beijing, Kunming, Lijiang and Quilin this year and I recommend you this small town called Shuhe, 10 min. away from Lijiang. Beautiful place to stay/relax for a week and lots of interesting residents there, then you can head to Shangri-La. Lijiang in my opinion is too commercial already.

Keep me posted when you come to HKG ; )

Hi girls, I love travel too, but I donot have any friend in HK want to go backpack travelling with me, so I went to cambodia this year alone.
Next year, if you girls want to go anyplace, just let me know, maybe I can be your travel buddy.

Visiting HK in (Feb-April) and (Nov-??) 2010

Wow thanks everyone. I just saw all your postings! It time to party! Great nibbles and making / meeting new friends!

Jen I can understand what you mean about work work work….well thank you so much for your tip about Shuhe. Too bad we didn’t meet up before, we could have gone together…but if you want a break from work, we can always just go for a nice stroll in the park or countryside. Getting away from thinking about work awakes you from the reality of a big city. How did if feel moving to HK from the US? Do you miss the open North American types of conversations?

Yes let’s go together! I want to go see the Chinese history museums..just so hubbled by the history and beauty of the craftsmanship. Have you joined the HUGE Hong Kong hiking meetup group?

I will be booking my flight soon, and expect to be in HK for Feb 1 (extendable until April?), but after March, may go volunteer in Guilin teaching conversational English in exchange for accommodation/meals and hopefully refresh my non-existent Mandarin. See http://www.geoexpat.com/forum/thread61541.html

Lunchontheroof I can’t believe you just went to Cambodia! Jenny (cooljenny26) just came back from there. When did you go? Yes you suggest places to see, and I’ll go with you! I’ll be in HK in Feb for the sole purpose of experiencing HK…reconnecting with my roots.

    MY INTERESTS:
    - make friends with other Chinese ladies
    - experience Chinese New Years for the very first time
    - learn/practice Mandarin with other female Chinese friends
    - learn Chinese cooking (other cultural events/activities?)
    - travelling/volunteering around Hong Kong and south China
    - organising a Hong Kong Chinese Worldwide Adoptee reunion for Nov 2010

joey_bear well isn’t this just perfect timing then? Where in the Mainland are you from? Great!...I’m excited about meeting up.

Jenny (Cooljenny26) How are you? You must be really busy with work?

Oh I’m still researching accommodation too.

If anyone knows any places to learn Chinese cooking too…let’s go together?? I’m up to doing any other workshops/classes related to Chinese culture.

    Lucinda

Yes...can't tell by your profile...as long as you're a female...
For sure, lets enjoy Hong Kong, south China and maybe Macau together.
I will be visiting in HK from Feb - end March/maybe April, August-Sept and Nov.
