Things I miss from New York...where to begin...

    1. Carib (Trinidad and Tobago) beer

    2. Red Stripe (Jamaica)

    3. Presidente (Dominican Republic)

    4. Tostones and mofongo (Dominican food)

    5. Real good pizza. Best I ever had was up in the Bronx and out on Long Island. Give it to me plain/mushroom/sausage/Sicilian. Heroes too! Shrimp parm and sausage and peppers. I've never had pizza I enjoyed more than in New York. Penne a la vodka too.

    6. Jamaican beef patties from 165 and Jamaica Ave in Queens. Damn. I miss them so much, I'm going to start making 'em. Need to get Scotch Bonnet peppers sent out...

    7. Bagels. I can't find a decent bagel anywhere here. The ones from the place in Soho are ok, but they're just not the same.

    8. Greek diners. I miss American portions and I miss pie!

    9. The Second Amendment

    10. The NYC Subway and all the ensuing adventure

    11. Gray's Papaya! Mahmoun's! Middle Eastern food from street vendors in Midtown.

    12. Riding my bikes through NYC traffic, Central Park, onto the Subway and onto the LIRR. I don't even have a bike here!

    13. The occasional Newport.

    14. Good barbershops.

    15. Places that stock clothes and shoes in my size.

    16. Hot 97

    17. Graffiti

    18. Chinese-owned Mexican restaurants that Mexicans eat at! Burritos so big you can't even eat 'em with your hands..hehe

    19. Boar's Head deli sandwiches

    20. Mozzarella sticks

    21. Parsons and Archer

    22. Running into celebrities on the street

    23. Knishes

    24. Israeli falafels

    25. Bad Chinese food (you get good and bad Chinese food here, but it's just not the same )

Things I miss from Sunny Sandy Let Go Of My Eggo:

    1. Perfect weather all year-round, sunshine and being America's Finest City

    2. Less than 12 inches of rain throughout the entire year

    3. The miles and miles of coastline
(Watching the seals in La Jolla and dolphins cruising along the coastlines, jet-skiing, body boarding, ahh waves!)

    4. Like everyone else stated, REAL MEXICAN FOOD! Carne Asada fries are always on my mind! lol

    5. Going across the border to Tijuana, Mexico for them 3x$1 tacos, $1 hotdogs from the street stands, horchata, you name it, haha.

    6. In-N-Out Burger (Animal Style and them 4x4's or 8x8's)

    7. Happy Hour @ Bennigan's

    8. OPEN SPACE!

Anyways I can write a book if I keep going...lol

Oh my god! IN-N-OUT! I miss it so...

But luckily I'm going back home at the end of the month... anyone want me to FedEx some In-n-Out burgers?

And I think I saw Burger King mentioned... there's actually ONE at the Peak! So you're in luck there. Much better than McCrapBurgers...

There's also a story there... went up to the Peak with a fellow California native, bought a couple BK burgers... then we decide to take a shortcut to his garage, where we get lost. We're climbing through the forest areas trying to find the trail again when the bag explodes open and everything falls out. The drinks are gone... but the burgers are salvagable! So he gives me our bags and goes back down to save the burgers! I have this on video too (at least the last part where he's climbing back up)... makes for a great Burger King commercial I say.

    Cali.

Too many things I am missing. Usually around this time of the year... Snowboarding is coming to an end... so summer events take into affect.

Camping, Rafting, Paintball, Hiking, Jetski ( although I don't swim... hail to the guy inventing Life Vests), etc...

Fortunately... found one place where I can feel at home... STARBUCKS!!!!!!!!! Love their sandwiches.

Actually it seems like you can do all of those summer/outdoor activities in HK and even in China. The main difference is the lack of blonde tanned girls everywhere...

Jay - your list for NYC really makes me reminisce.

    Also miss:

    - good hot dawgs, weeners,
    - NYC cabs (gets you where you wanna go every time),
    - the women! (hottest anywhere in the world!) and
    - the NYC grit (and without the impression of being rude or arrogant like in Asia)
