Sunrise is at about 5-6am momentarily, so what's the need to head out at midnight? Way more beautiful than sunrises are the melancholic sunsets here. You can also appreciate them better as you are not tired of having to get up early or stay up late.

Yes sunrise is at 5-6am, but to get to Lantau Peak you need to go on a hike which can take 4-5 hours. So I am not sure what time you think we should leave at if not 1am?

Lantau peak is famous for sunrises, not the sunset. Besides night time is cooler for walking and it was way cooler and exciting and felt way more peaceful.

It's just that I have mountains in my area and if you climb up their peaks you can enjoy wide unobstructed views of the horizon.

Guys - might be better to start a new thread for the dim-sum meet.
