Isn't it a tad contentious to celebrate Millstone Day in a British pub?

Wouldn't you be more at home in somewhere like Dan Ryans or Al's Diner?

PDLM : When number 10 is an extension of the White House... and the british pub spends so much time promoting its burgers to american sailors....

Let's see on the first point - I suspect the UK's new leader won't have quite such a brown nose as the previous one. And we have never had a problem separating Americans from their money - that's the whole point isn't it?

Its just a cunning plot to make the americans more obese so that they are unable to operate as an effective fighting force. Seems to be working.

Can't we all just get along?...and just Drink!?

Brits get so emotional over the 4th of July....why? My guess is that it's really not the fact that they lost the war (although seriously guys the bright Red uniforms did not help).....it's that the damn Yanks threw all that tea into the Boston Harbor......and not once.....but TWICE!!!!

However, given the fact that Americans can't make a good cup of tea to this day, isn't it really a "moral" victory for the Brits?

So even though you can't brag about Pakistan, India, West Africa, Carribean, or the Mandate for Palestine......at least that penal colony in the south turned out alright!!!

So why not celebrate July 4th with your American friends? Is it really so bad not having them in the commonwealth? According to the 2007 Gallop Poll, almost 70% of Americans believe that Creationism is "probably true" and you guys have Stephen Hawking....isn't it enough of a reason to go out and have a beer????

yeah, final decision is bulldogs. just ask for the geoexpat table. i don't think it will be too hard to find, as it will most likely consist of arguing brits and yanks.

I hate to have to correct our little educated " special friends " -- AGAIN !!
    1) I am sorry, but we Brits really have no interest in the 4th July. Sad to say the majority of Brits have no interest in April 23rd either. Maybe we are just a soul less lot. Happy in the fact that there is more to life than " Being No1 " etc.

US girls just LOVE our accent and the gentle way we pay attention to them. Whats the use of a party , with booze, when all we have to do is say " HELLLLOOOO " and open the door for them or offer them our seat, listen to their problems, speak softly and clearly to them etc etc. Domination by Genetics is much more satisfying than all that " Hoo Hahh " tostesterone rage you lot engage in.

    2) There is a very good article, even though I am not a fan, on Wikipedia " Boston Tea Party " that hits the important facts of the event. Basically the Yanks didn't like the Brits interfering with their smuggling AND a great American Hero was so patrioticly disgusted he even offered to pay for the tea thrown away. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story eh.

    3) Have a great day , if you want , on the 4th July, we will just wait outside until we see the tell tale signs of you ignoring your women ( as usual ) and swoop in with our tender words, gentle action and superior geneoligy. Nurtured over at least two thousand years of breeding with the strongest races in Europe and not a couple of hundred years from criminals and drop outs !!

All in good fun in this festive season.
